Computerized Clinical Decision Support Systems and their clinical application in health care delivery system

Computerized Clinical Decision Support Systems [CDSSs] are defined as computer-based tools using scientific knowledge to generate patient specific advice or interpretation to help health professionals in making clinical decisions. The use of computers have been driven not only by the increasing need to manage large amounts of information, but also by the imperative to make evidence-based and cost-effective decisions on a daily basis. Computer aided medical tools address the growing information needs of the busy health care provider, decrease medical errors and improve healthcare processes as well as patients outcomes. So this paper aimed at presenting different issues related to application, benefits and recent advances of CDSSs within the health care delivery system

Nursing caring: Different perspectives

Caring has emerged as a central paradigm in nursing and has become the essence and the core process of nursing practice that reflects the central mission of nursing. Caring has been related to the patient outcomes and satisfaction. This article examines the different perspectives of caring in nursing literature, as related to caring to nursing knowledge, anthropology of caring, Islamic perspective of caring and the philosophical inquiry that suites caring knowledge with emphasis on the utilization of both the empirical/ reductionism approach and the interpretive phenomenological approach to generate authentic scientific nursing knowledge. Throughout this paper, caring epistemology and ontology will be viewed as essential paradigm to nursing profession
